Mental Wellbeing
Mental Health and Wellbeing has been identified as one of our priority areas for the St. Helens Cares Integrated Care Partnership through the St. Helens People’s Plan 2021-2026, with dedicated workstreams delivered in collaboration Partners across the borough we came together to increase the focus on prevention and the wider determinants of mental health. Our programme of work is centred around four workstreams areas to meet the needs of the population focusing on:
-
Prevention and reduction of self-harm and suicide;
-
Reduce social isolation and loneliness;
-
Improve the emotional and mental wellbeing of children and young people; and
-
Expand voluntary community sector capacity to support mental health and wellbeing
With a joint cross-sectoral mental health prevention concordat action plan in place, we aim to deliver an increased focus on the prevention of mental health problems and the promotion of good mental health at a local level. This should draw on the expertise of people with lived experience of mental health problems, and the wider community, to identify solutions, promote equality and reduce health inequalities.
